Work

New wallpaper. Sticky situations. A house in total chaos.

Charlie and his boss arrive to redecorate a wealthy household, but their attempts at hanging wallpaper soon create more problems than they solve. After hauling the tools—and his demanding employer—to the job, Charlie faces messy mishaps, impatient residents and a distracting flirtation with the maid. This home improvement project is heading rapidly downhill.

Starring Charlie Chaplin and Edna Purviance, this lively silent short turns an ordinary working day into a slapstick disaster, with inventive physical comedy and plenty of sympathy for the overworked assistant.
