The Outlaw

Legendary outlaws. Divided loyalties. Dangerous desire.

Jane Russell makes her film debut alongside Jack Buetel, Walter Huston and Thomas Mitchell in Howard Hughes’s classic Western.

Billy the Kid (Buetel) forms an uneasy friendship with Doc Holliday (Huston), putting both men at odds with lawman Pat Garrett (Mitchell). When Rio McDonald (Russell) enters Billy’s life, attraction and jealousy complicate an already volatile rivalry.

Blending frontier adventure, romance and shifting alliances, The Outlaw offers a fictional take on famous figures of the Old West—and the role that introduced Jane Russell to movie audiences.
