The Champion

An unlikely boxer. A lucky horseshoe. A bulldog in his corner.

Looking for work, Charlie takes a job as a sparring partner and unexpectedly earns a shot at a championship fight. With unconventional tactics, fancy footwork and his loyal bulldog nearby, he faces an opponent who seems far beyond his weight class.

Starring Charlie Chaplin and Edna Purviance, this spirited silent short turns the boxing ring into a slapstick playground, where quick thinking counts for more than sporting skill.
