Romantic Rewrite

Best-selling mystery author Reed Shepherd knows exactly how to craft the perfect twist—but when it comes to writing romance, he’s completely out of his depth. Enter Ivy Roberts, a sharp-witted romance editor whose brutally honest notes on Reed’s latest novel leave him less than impressed.

After a heated first encounter, the two are happy to go their separate ways—Ivy to her sister’s beach wedding and Reed to a quiet seaside escape where he can rewrite his book. But their plans take an unexpected turn when they discover they’re staying in neighboring beach houses.

When Ivy’s ex-boyfriend spots them together, she impulsively claims that Reed is her new boyfriend. Soon, the unlikely pair strikes a deal: Reed will play the devoted date and help make her ex jealous, while Ivy teaches him a thing or two about writing a believable love story.

Between wedding festivities, romantic lessons, and plenty of playful sparring, their fake relationship starts becoming a little too convincing. And Reed may be about to discover that the best love stories aren’t always the ones you write—they’re the ones you never see coming.
