Love Affair

A chance meeting. A promise to reunite. A love put to the test.

Aboard an ocean liner bound for New York, singer Terry McKay and charming Frenchman Michel Marnet fall in love, despite their commitments to other people. They agree to spend six months apart before meeting at the Empire State Building—if their feelings endure. But an unexpected tragedy threatens their reunion.

Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer star in this tender romance from director Leo McCarey. Blending playful humour with heartfelt drama, Love Affair is the original classic that McCarey later remade as An Affair to Remember.
