Fear And Desire

Behind enemy lines, the greatest battle may be within.

After their plane crashes in hostile territory, four soldiers must find a way back to safety. As they navigate an unfamiliar forest, their escape becomes a tense struggle with fear, violence and the psychological toll of war.

Stanley Kubrick’s debut feature stars Kenneth Harp, Frank Silvera and Paul Mazursky in an unsettling drama set during an unnamed conflict. Blending suspense with reflection, Fear and Desire offers an early glimpse of the filmmaker’s enduring fascination with human behaviour under pressure.
