Birth of the Solar System

Travel back to the chaotic beginnings of our solar system, when collisions, gravity and chance determined which worlds would survive.

Birth of the Solar System explores how the Sun and planets took shape billions of years ago. As young worlds formed and collided, some remained in orbit while others were pulled into the Sun or cast into deep space.

From the shifting influence of Jupiter and Saturn to the impact believed to have formed our Moon, this documentary pieces together the evidence behind the solar system we know today.
