Alibi

A murdered policeman. A charming gangster. An alibi that seems airtight.

Fresh out of prison, Chick Williams returns to his old gang—and soon becomes the prime suspect in a deadly warehouse robbery. His defence? He was at the theatre with a policeman’s daughter, who can account for his whereabouts.

As detectives push to uncover the truth, romance and deception collide in a tense battle between a resourceful criminal and the officers determined to expose him. Alibi brings Prohibition-era crime to the screen in an early sound drama filled with suspicion and divided loyalties.
